Technical Writer
Primary Duties
? Prepares and maintains technical Installation Manuals, Instruction Sheets, Service Bulletins, and Order Specification Sheets in support of manufactured equipment.
? Prepares and maintains bi-monthly Technical Bulletins.
? Controls, distributes, and maintains registered binders of Installation Manuals.
Additional Responsibilities
? Responsible for direct update of Lancer Technical Publications to the Lancer web site.
? Controls and distributes manuals converted to other languages (e.g., Spanish, German, French, Italian, and other languages as required).
? Maintains historical archives and records of Installation Manuals, Instruction Sheets, Service Bulletins, Technical Bulletins, and Order Specification Sheets for Lancer and subsidiary companies.
? Maintains and updates the Lancer Directory of Offices and Distributors
? Controls, coordinates and maintains Engineering reviews and updates to the various Lancer Sales Brochures (Specification Sheets)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
? Good command and understanding of English language, sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation and writing skills are required.
? Computer skills: Working knowledge of QuarkXPress and Adobe Illustrator required. Limited working knowledge of other software applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, and Microsoft Outlook is helpful.
? Ability to document, format, and record technical information with understanding of engineering documentation.
? Ability to work independently is required.
? Strong organization skills required.
? Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Education & Experience
? College degree in technical communications desired.
? Minimum three (3) years experience in an engineering or desktop publishing environment is required.
