Summary
Collects data using routine procedures; data collection can be either manual or computer assisted
Rigs transducers, collects data for routine tasks under close supervision. Results should be reported via tablesgraphs
Fabricates parts with the aid of a drawing or other instruction
Does not totally understand fabrication but knows where to go and how to get it done
Uses sound building practices, does not endanger people or product when prototype parts are used
Mocks up parts, product, and complete packages for feasibility studies by designers and engineers
Works independently on routine projects
Uses volt meter and troubleshoots circuits with the aid of a diagram
Performs routine maintenance and repairs on standard product with benefit of service literature
Has basic entry level tool knowledge, basic air and electric hand tool operation
Has Forklift Operation (license), Boater Safety Course
Rigs routine test equipment for data acquisition; performs data collection using data recording equipment
Interprets results and makes pass/fail judgements of data collection accuracy and repeatability with the aid of the project team. Reports results to project engineer in presentation quality format for internal ENGR documents with computer generated back up
Utilizes a Drill press, Band Saw, Sander. Performs basic mill and lathe operations
Fabricates parts with or without the aid of a drawing or with a general description of component requirements
Works independently on special and unique projects with instruction
Implements creative solutions to complex and non-routine subsystem performance attributes that are related to product development. Has general knowledge of product QRD (Quality Reliability Dependability)
Operates Engine dyno equipment and data collection, Portable Data Logger operation
Performs the work of previous grade as listed above and in addition:
Performs efficient program set-up and proper use of software applications
Creates appropriate spreadsheets
Develops equipment for data acquisition on non-routine projects. Tasks may include developing test procedures.
Designs and performs data collection tasks with limited supervision. Interprets results and recommends follow up
Operates Lathes and Mills along with the previous tech level requirements
Works independently on special, unique, and/or state of the art projects without ongoing supervision
Analyzes failures and recommends component design changes. Effectively uses non-company assets.
General knowledge of competitive products, customer expectations, and industry standards
Understands the TIR/TR systems and their operation

Typical Direction Received:
Performs non-routine assignments or project work of substantial variety and complexity. Works under limited general supervision. Demonstrated ability to assist other areas/functions.

Education: Associates Degree
Experience: 5 to 10 Years
