The technology organization within TLR is a centralized unit providing shared software and services to TLR business units across the globe. TLR Technical Services (TLRTS) is an exciting and dynamic organization that provides systems support, enhancements, and consultation for the selection and implementation of TLR and Thomson business systems.

We are looking to add a Project Manager to join our team who will be responsible for providing project management on multiple concurrent technology development projects. This person will also be responsible for providing on-going service level management upon implementation of projects.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Assist with determining priorities, project resources, schedules and infrastructure costs. Ensure requirements, specifications and scope are established, managed, understood, and communicated using a process of close professional interaction with the Business Units bringing forward technical service's recommendations to influence these. (40%)
Help assemble project team by assessing team member skills/abilities, placing each team member into an appropriate role, and directing teamwork throughout the project. (5%)
Maintain project plan, and monitor schedule and performance against the plan to ensure timely project completion. (20%)
Participate in defining measures for project success and providing mechanisms for tracking and reporting status. Identify risks and resolve issues that impact project completion. (10%)
Create and execute a communication strategy that ensures team members, users and other stakeholders have access to project information and status. (5%)
Facilitates a formal review process for service levels post project implementation. (15%)
Provide leadership in a team environment (5%): * Mentor less experienced staff members. * Provide input on performance reviews/promotions. * Help select candidates for hire.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:
Represents all aspects of technical service's deliverables and service level offerings to a larger corporate project team. Has influence over technical services teams to help determine priorities, resources and meet scheduled commitments.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Participate in budgeting exercises with customers during latest estimate and plan process to ensure capital and expenses are reflected correctly. Coordinates capital expenditures and financials for purchases within complex projects. Assists in creating models to determine overall costs of technology services provided.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in a related field required. Graduate degree preferred. PMP certification preferred 7+ years of related experience, including 3+ years of project management
Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of hardware/software technologies used Strong project planning and management skills with working knowledge of project management methodology Strong oral and written communication skills Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills Demonstrated experience in creating and leading cross-functional project teams Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment Experience with business cases and project cost estimations
