UPS System Engineer
CITY: Louisville STATE: Kentucky COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Responsible for identifying, scoping and implementing new product programs for UPS products and accessories for North America (UL) markets.
* Responsible for industry and competitive benchmarking and analysis, strategic product planning, product specification development and legacy support for UL market UPS product lines.
* Provide technical leadership to strategic planning and execution of product programs for 3-phase and 1-phase UPS products.
* Analyze industry technical trends and customer needs. Generate and maintain Multi Generational Product Plans (MGPPs).
* Interface with the product Commercial, Application, and Service teams on all technical issues for UL market UPS products.
* Develop detailed product specifications and programs for new products in support of the Multi Generational Product Plan.
* Provide technical guidance and support to plan and execute new product programs.
* Drive cost-out and quality improvement in current and in-development products.
* Identify and champion innovation programs related to UPS products and systems.
* Support Commercial and Manufacturing teams in technical issues regarding these products.
* Provide technical guidance and ownership of new and legacy electronic product lines.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* BSEE or equivalent.
* Minimum 10 yrs experience in 1-phase and/or 3-phase UPS product design, development, or technical management.
* Familiarity with UPS and related electrical system industry standards including UL1778, NEMA, FCC, NEC, IEEE and IEC.
* Proven ability to manage projects in a multitasking environment.
* Demonstrated teambuilding and leadership skills.
* Demonstrated communication & networking skills.
Desired:
* MSEE or equivalent.
* Experience working with global product development teams and suppliers.
* Experience with design/development of modular UPS platforms.
* Experience with design/development of power electronic systems and controls.
* Experience with design of mission critical power systems to support IT/datacenter applications.
* Experience with UPS accessories, battery systems and networking
