Variable Cost Productivity Engineer

CITY: Waterford STATE: New York COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) Engineer is responsible for plant-wide productivity programs and driving cost out inititatives in the business.

Essential Functions:
* Overall Project Management and ownership. The VCP Engineer is responsible for all aspects of major projects and controls the project time line, investment requirements and on-time delivery of benefits.
* Driving quarterly cost out Growth and utilizing strategic vision in order to assess cost reduction opportunities and capacity growth needs.
* Responsible for driving direct savings in the business.
* Works closely with the operators, maintenance personnel, team leaders, schedulers, quality, technology, commercial and other engineers to identify and generate productivity ideas.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* BA or BS degree in an engineering discipline.
* Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
* Cross functional project team leading experience.
* Minimum 2 years experience in a Manufacturing or production environment.

Desired:
* Execution of productivity programs in Manufacturing, including driving Lean Six Sigma projects to create capacity generation and quality programs; previous project management and independent thinking is desired.
* Production Engineering experience in a Chemical Operation.
* Six Sigma certified.
