Job Requirements and Description

 

BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years engineering experience is required.  Thorough understanding of practical government application of system and project engineering principles required.  Solid planning and project management skills are required.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications are required.  Background in the development and verification of rocket engine and propulsion requirements is highly desired.  Experience in the utilization of validation and verification methodologies is required.  Capability to utilize system engineering requirement traceability software such as DOORS, Cradle, CORE, RTM, etc. is highly desired.  Familiarity and experience in the Space Shuttle System and engines are highly desired.

 

Duties:

 

Assist in the creation of Constellation Project, Crew Launch Vehicle and major element requirement verification products including support systems, interface requirements, verification methodology planning and others.  Work as part of a larger customer/contractor team to integrate and negotiate between major elements and systems to arrive at proper requirements with a particular emphasis on verification methods.  Perform analyses and tasks to determine the proper and correct requirements and verification strategies to meet the competing demands of performance, cost, and schedule.  Keep proper documentation and records to support activities.  Review and collaborate on interim requirement development products such as functional flow diagrams, verification matrices, reliability analyses and other technical reports.
