Vice President - Customer/Product Support

Thales is a leading international manufacturer of in-flight entertainment systems for both Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft. Will be responsible for all Aerospace Services Worldwide (ASW) activities and personnel in Irvine, California.  A primary focus of this role will be to continue the ramp-up of a robust central In Flight Entertainment support organization via recruiting appropriate resources, developing current employees, defining and implementing robust processes (repair and in-service), implementing appropriate IT systems and managing key performance indicators.  Will also assist regional VPs to develop, market and execute new service offerings, particularly in the area of turn key maintenance, by managing spares, piece parts and consumables to meet contractual, business and customer satisfaction targets.  Will also develop and implement IFE support policies in line with customer and market requirements, taking into account key projects.  Will ensure customer satisfaction by anticipating and resolving product support issues in a timely manner.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

-  Motivational management of Aerospace Services Worldwide (ASW) local/global In Flight Entertainment team and the establishing of strong transparent relationships with other Aerospace units.

-  Will be responsible for defining ASW strategy and policies in the field of In Flight Entertainment support.

-  Deliver requisite operational performance via best utilization of internal and external resources.

-  Coordinate policies and actions pertaining to In Flight Entertainment across the ASW organization

-  Achieve contractual requirements in the field of IFE support by driving a Total Quality approach.

 

Will manage eight subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 8-15, more or less employees in the following departments: Product Support, Technical Publications, Repair Station, Customer Services and Turn-Key. Will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.  Will also directly supervise eight non-supervisory employees.  Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; resolving problems.

 

 

Primary position requirements will include:

-  Bachelor?s degree from four-year college or university.

-  Minimum 5-10 years experience in a similar position, with significant management responsibilities.

-  Must have experience in strategic planning and execution; knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management required.

-  Must have strong communication, leadership and management skills; must also be customer oriented and able to reprioritize based on business needs.

-  Must have a strong customer focus with the agility to drive and implement market driven changes to internal processes and procedures.

-  A strong Customer/Product Support background and experience level is required, as is a strong Operational background with broad knowledge of Supply Chain activities.

-  Must be a team player, and be prepared to challenge and drive cultural changed throughout global business.

-  Specific experience in the In Flight Entertainment  support industry is strongly desired.
