Water/Wastewater Engineer III (Water and Sewer Modeler)

Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works in Annapolis, Maryland is seeking an Engineer III to manage and lead the execution of major water and sewer master planning projects. This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in engineering or a related field; four or more years experience in professional engineering work; PE preferred but not required.

Candidates considered for this position must possess experience and knowledge of the hydraulics and dynamics of complex wastewater systems, interceptors, collectors and pumping stations as well as water transmission, distribution and storage systems.  The applicant must demonstrate experience with wastewater, water, and public works infrastructure planning for adequate facilities to meet future growth and expansion.  The applicant must demonstrate experience and management skills in personnel supervision and proven skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.  The applicant must demonstrate experience in negotiating with other organizational entities to coordinate mutual needs and establish teamwork, cooperation and effective working relationships.  In addition to possessing significant knowledge of hydraulics and engineering principles, the applicant must be proficient with computers and experienced with technically oriented engineering software applications including but not limited to the maintenance of water and sewer hydraulic models, creation and maintenance of customized database applications, and maintenance and use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

 

Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience using WaterCAD, SewerCAD, ArcView, AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, and Excel.
