Water Wastewater Project Engineer

Position Summary for Water Wastewater Project Engineer:


This individual will serve as the Water Wastewater Project Engineer in a rapidly growing, multi-office firm that provides site development engineering, utility engineering, construction engineering and inspection, land planning, design and complete surveying services. There are tremendous opportunities to develop the water wastewater division as well as professionally advance at a faster pace than in a large engineering firm. This position is responsible for the technical design of water wastewater treatment plants. This individual will provide leadership, and guidance to project and program staff.


Position Responsibilities:
- Competence in water and wastewater treatment facilities, potable water lines, sanitary sewer lines, pump stations, lift and collection stations, sewer and water line extensions, tanks and pipelines, utility permitting, solid waste, and public well/water system design 
- Technical design experience in civil water resources projects to include levee, canal, control structure, and reservoir/retention design management
- Technical experience in water and wastewater infrastructure and construction project management
- Coordinate design efforts on multi-discipline projects including overseeing preparation of contract documents
- The ability to manage numerous projects at all different stages
- The ability to travel-mostly day trips, overnight trips are limited
- Candidates should be familiar with a broad range of issues related to water/wastewater systems including master planning, treatment, transmission and distribution
- Design and construction phase experience is desirable


Position Requirements:
- 5-7+ years experience in water wastewater design (O-15mgd)
- Bachelors degree or higher in civil engineering (environmental if there was an
- emphasis in water wastewater)
- Background in general civil engineering
- Registered P .E.
- Background in water wastewater-working with city officials, owners, contractors, permitting process, contract preparation, land design, drainage design, stormwater management design, potable water design, and sewage treatment design
- Strong leadership skills: the ability to work independently and with a team, and make decisions
- Detail oriented-know the ins and outs of every project: timeline, budget, stage of project, review drawings, make suggestions for improvement
- Needs to have excellent English communication skills. Both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage and coordinate project team members
- Computer savvy: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite
- Entrepreneurial spirit
