Job Summary:


We are looking for experience engineers with proven experience and expertise in developing state of the art commercial quality Web and WAP applications for the enterprise, e-commerce, or consumer areas.
Team members will be responsible for extending MobiTV*s compatibilities to wireless networks all over the world and evolving the product to stay one step ahead of the competition. Candidates for this job work on the handset and server components of the MobiTV service. As software engineer, you will be responsible for developing our next generation product using a variety of technologies, languages, and development environments. These engineers are responsible for enabling highly constrained devices such as handsets, with a rich graphical user interface and rich feature set. They work, both on server and client software, obtaining visibility into a wide range of technologies and end to end view of the system.



Job Responsibilities:


Develop our next generation infrastructure and applications using state of the art Web and WAP technologies targeting to extend the reach of our Mobile and laptop based applications to over 2 billions end users
Actively participate in and contribute to product design and/or product feature discussions and/or meetings within Engineering and other groups
Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure proper architecture decisions are reached in ensuring adequate handset and server coordination activities.
Develop algorithms that are efficient, maintainable, extensible, easy to understand, and according to best development practices.
Work closely with QA team to help define proper testing techniques and plans, correct product defects and assist QA engineers in some types of testing.
Assist the Deployment, Operations, and Sales teams with the investigation and resolution of customer issues
Work closely with technical writers to ensure detailed product documents are maintained
Implement best engineering practices to make MobiTV a best in class engineering organization



Qualifications:


3+ years of Java development experience in Web applications. 1+ years of experience in WAP applications
Thorough knowledge of Web technologies and architectures including HTML/DHTML/CSS/JavaScript/JSP/Java Servlets, Struts, Java Server Faces, and XML/DOM.
2+ years of experience in building highly scalable Web site of frameworks using Java Servlets, Struts, or Java Server Faces.
Understanding and appreciation for very high quality code and associated best practices such as code reviews, JavaDoc, JUnit, proper logging, instrumentation, regression suites, etc.
Experience programming highly robust, scalable platforms is Experience in building J2EE Enterprise/e-Commerce Server Infrastructure
Experience in tuning Web applications for performance and scalability
Understanding and experience with SOA is a strong plus
Experience with networking protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, SOAP is a plus
Must have been a core member of a highly successful product development team major architectural and programming contributions
Experienced as a team leader with strong technical, leadership and interpersonal skills desirable
Solid communication skills, creative problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong time-management and independent-judgment skills required
Must be enthusiastic and work well with others
