Position: Wireless System Engineer
Summary:
Responsible for designing and implementing large scale wireless network systems primarily in healthcare/hospitals and/or large campus environments with high level QOS. This is a customer facing position that will require travel to customer sites and interaction with on-site network engineering groups.
Essential Job Functions:Design and implement large scale wireless network systems primarily in healthcare / hospital or large campus environments with high level QOSTravel to customer sites and interact with on-site network engineering groupsDesign and deploy converged (data, voice, IP video) internet works Monitor, test, troubleshoot, and optimize IP networks Produce engineering documents: diagrams/drawings, specifications, bill of materials, etc. Monitor, test, troubleshoot, and optimize IP networksInterface with on-site network engineering groups ensuring successful deployment
Experience and Education Requirements: Four year degree in engineering or related field experience Current Cisco CCNA 7+ years experience in similar position Strong experience with all aspects of design and deployment of converged (data, voice, IP video) internet works: Switching, routing, VLAN segmentation, and QOS Experience with the design and deployment of firewalls, VPNs, network security appliances, IDS Strong experience monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing IP networks Strong experience with secure 802.11 networking in an enterprise or similar environment Thorough understanding of the principles of wireless/radio communications; experience with antenna design concepts preferred Experience deploying voiceover IP on a converged network; wireless VoIP preferred Ability to produce engineering documents: diagrams/drawings, specifications, bill of materials, etc. Knowledge of wireless design packages and troubleshooting packages: Wireless Valley, Ekahau, Cognio, AirTight, etc. Thorough knowledge of and experience with all authentication and encryption protocols: EAP, PEAP, EAP-Fast WPA, WPA2/AES RADIUS and ACS>LDAP configuration and management Must be familiar with Atheros and Intel supplicants and related behavior Experience with deployment of wireless broadband networks including: Unlicensed point-to-multipoint broadband wireless networks using 2.4 GHz or 5.8GHz Licensed or unlicensed point-to-point Ethernet Cisco and Aruba LWAPP controllers and management systems Must be a self motivated, self-starter team-player Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with team and customers Ability to multi-task and work productively in an unstructured environment Ability to travel 75% of the time Must be confident and effective communicator.
