Firmware Engineer
ESS Technology, Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Fremont, California. We design and market high-performance digital video processor and imaging sensor semiconductors for the consumer digital entertainment, digital home, and camera-enabled cellular phone markets.
We are currently looking for junior firmware and ASIC engineers to join our team doing chip design, verifcation and implementation for our next generation digital A/V and Consumer Electronic products. This is a great opportunity for a few sharp, motivated new BSEE/MSEE grads to do design and gain ownership with a small and cohesive design team.
Experience Level:
BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years related experience. Academic project experience involving strong embedded C or verilog/VHDL coding is applicable.
Required Skills:
Candidates should have strong C programming skills in a UNIX/LINUX Embedded Systems environment.
RTOS and Device Driver development
Familiarity/Experience in any of the following is a plus:CMOS image sensor Set-Top Box Various Video/Audio/Image compression standards Video decoding with specific experience with MPEG 4, MPEG 2, VC1 and H.264
