MWH is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assocate Geologist in the Walnut Creek, California office.

Under the direction of the Principal/Supervising Engineer or Project Manager, this position supports project activities through the application of scientific principles and techniques to collect and analyze data needed to assess ground water conditions and soil contamination on various projects. This position interacts within the business unit organization internally and with clients and vendors externally.

1. Will be able to independently select, evaluate and apply scientific principles and techniques to collect and analyze data needed to assess ground water conditions and soil contamination
2. Conduct field inspections under supervision and direct activities such as test drilling and installing monitoring wells, measuring water level heads, etc.
3. Organize, draft and coordinate geological reports such as various types of remedial reports to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
4. Assist in the development of new business, including participating in proposal development for small to mid sized projects and presentation preparation.
5. May assist in project management duties on small projects, including, but not limited to, developing preliminary budgets, determining the scope of work, establishing schedules, processing appropriate paperwork, reviewing invoices and maintaining client relationships.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.
7. Follow company policies and health and safety guidelines to ensure personal safety.

Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geophysics or applicable field, with 0 to 3 years of experience in the geologic or environmental industry required. Proven field investigation, data management, and evaluation skills a plus. Good organizational, technical, communication and detail skills also required. Masters Degree in Geology or related field highly desirable.
