Associate Water/Process Engineer

CH2M HILL's Water & Process group has immediate openings in its Dayton, OH office for experienced engineering candidates. The successful candidate(s) will mentor under senior staff and will help direct/execute tasks addressing challenging water, wastewater, emissions control and sustainable water management issues for our broadening industrial client base.

As an associate engineer, the successful candidate(s) will be involved in planning characterization studies; interfacing with client engineering and operations staff to develop design data; and interfacing with senior technologists, other disciplines and outside vendors to develop conceptual designs and feasibility studies, and preliminary and detailed engineering packages for industrial water, wastewater and emissions control processes.

Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a B.S. and M.S. degree in an Environmental Engineering Discipline with course work in water /wastewater treatment, from an accredited college or university and the proper work authorization- non academic VISA to work for any employer in the U.S.

Preferred candidates will also have 10 years of experience with at least 5 years of direct experience in the detailed design of water/wastewater treatment processes, including solids separation, oil/water separation, physical/chemical coagulation/precipitation and activated sludge processes. The preferred candidate will have proven experience managing feasibility studies and preliminary design tasks/projects < $50,000 to accomplish technical, budget and schedule objectives. The candidate should possess good technical writing skills, including the organization and explanation of technical processes and concepts and persuasive proposals/presentations; and should be qualified in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The ideal candidate will have practical experience evaluating and designing industrial water and wastewater treatment systems. Experience in biological treatment (aerobic and anaerobic) process simulation/modeling is highly desirable. Experience in process water pinch analysis is also desirable. Experience in membrane applications for water/wastewater treatment is advantageous. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in data/database management. Air compliance and emissions control experience would be a plus.
