Business Operations Analyst

ALSTOM Power Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Division is a global leader in air pollution control (APC) solutions for utility and industrial businesses.  We are seeking a Business Operations Analyst for our Knoxville, TN location.

 

The Business Operations Analyst will focus on business initiatives that support an increasing workload and productivity improvement efforts. Perform functional requirements analysis, specification documentation, application testing, employee training, user documentation and problem resolution. These efforts will be specifically focused in the following business process initiative areas:

 

Global Collaboration (within ALSTOM)

Business Standardization Initiatives

Project Scheduling and Controls

ERP / Financial Systems

Software Systems Integration

Knowledge Management Systems

 

This requires development of a detailed understanding of existing systems, their interactions, along with experience implementing applications on-site and attention to the business operations they support. Other responsibilities include assisting project team members as assigned or required by the business.

 

Major Responsibilities:

? Establish systematic requirement review sessions with functional departments in order to collate and/or respond effectively to changing needs

? Assure compliance with existent review and approval procedures in regards to specification documentation

? Acquire, maintain, and expand knowledge of existent product offerings, current support policies, methods of support delivery and provide technically accurate solutions to users

? Lead or participate in team projects that enhance the quality and efficiency business processes

? Coordinate user and support issues among departments to ensure timely distribution of knowledge and positive impact on user satisfaction and productivity

? Develop support procedures, including a total resolution process

? Incorporate changes (updates, new releases) to existing support structure

? Maintain high degree of contact with users in order to collect and respond quickly to their changing needs

? Attend training sessions offered within the group and lead training workshops

? Develop and provide process training and coaching

? Establish flexible processes and ongoing training

? Provide expert and creative solutions to user process problems

? Research, resolve, and respond to inquiries based on implemented standards

? Ensure that problems are escalated in accordance with established procedures

 

Education/Experience/Minimum Training Requirements:

 

Education:  High school required; B.S. preferred.

 

Experience:  Three to five years in related field. If no B.S. Degree, minimum of 5 years

experience in information systems and/or business systems. Experience with

development and implementation of Business Systems and Standards

required. ERP and/or PDMMS experience a plus.

 

Knowledge:  Of ERP, PDM, and Business application packages and suppliers.

 

Skills:  Excellent computer skills, knowledge of CAD, good organization and

communication skills. Demonstrate skill in training others for software

applications. Strong combination of technical and interpersonal skills.

 

Abilities:

? Knowledgeable in the tools and techniques for testing software

? Problem analysis and solutions formulation

? Test procedure development and documentation

? Produce user and operational documentation

? Demonstrate skill in training others for software applications

 

Physical Conditions:  Primarily office work environment with some visits to jobsites; ability to travel.
