EHS Environmental Leader

CITY: Strongsville STATE: Ohio COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Responsible for maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, Local and GE Best Practice EHS regulations and standards.
* Responsible for site's Air, Water and Waste programs.
* Provides Leadership of site performance in meeting EHS goals and objectives.
* Leads continuous improvement of EHS performance including OSHA and LWD reductions, emergency preparedness, site work plans, job safety analysis, ergonomics, accident investigations and process change management.
* Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
* Leads employee safety teams, coordinates training, performs audits and maintains EHS related records.
* Provides timely reports to GE Advanced Materials EHS staff, and site management.
* Utilizes Six Sigma tools, processes and controls to further reduce EHS costs.
* Responsibilities also include integration of EHS standards applicable to new and existing equipment and processes.
* Must effectively interface with plant nurse.
* Ensures all facility personnel recognize the value of Environment, Health, and Safety programs and integrate this belief in the executions of their positions.
* Provides EHS expertise and advice to plant associates.
* Act as a single point contact for EHS environmental programs/operations.
* Responsible for reviewing site MOC's and NMI's.
* Complete all monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reporting requirements.
* Develop health & safety awareness programs to lead to OSHA VPP status.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* BS in Engineering or related Environmental Science. 2+ years of EHS experience with working knowledge of environmental statutes and regulations.
* Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards. In depth knowledge of EPA regulations, including Air, Water, Waste and Title V.
* Must have solid knowledge of regulatory compliance legislation including SARA, TSCA, RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA and other standards related to various Federal and State agencies.
* Excellent Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills required.
* Proven track record of driving change and executing programs.
* Demostrated ability to organize and motivate teams, drive change and interact cross-functionally.

Desired:
* Prior EHS experience with working knowledge of GE EHS framework elements.
* Strong knowledge of EHS regulations.
* Six Sigma Greenbelt certified.
