The Engineering and Infrastructure Business Unit currently has an opening for an Environmental Engineer.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The individual will perform both field and office work on petroleum-hydrocarbon remediation projects including: site testing, design, procurement, permitting, construction, installation, and operation and maintenance of remediation systems. Field duties will include: overseeing construction activities and documenting project quality control, and health and safety conditions; troubleshooting and optimizing remediation system operation; performing engineering calculations; and collecting soil, groundwater, and air samples. Office duties will include: preparing workplans and reports, tabulating laboratory and other site data, preparing engineering drawings and permit applications, and interfacing with regulatory and permitting agencies.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
Bachelors degree in Engineering is required.
Three to five years of applied environmental experience performing site remediation engineering design, field construction oversight and quality control, site safety & health oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and preparing workplans and reports. Experience in conducting site testing, performing test data analysis, and making recommendations for the design of fixed remediation systems, including soil vapor extraction, multiphase extraction, air sparging, pump and treat, and bioremediation technologies, is desirable. Excellent technical writing and computer skills are essential.
DESIRE SKILLS:
Professional Engineer Certification (P.E.) is highly desirable. Experience with retail petrochemical facilities and Washington and/or Oregon UST regulations. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher.
