TS has immediate opportunities for qualified Environmental Specialists/Field Chemists and Field Supervisors in it's Azusa, Huntington Beach, and San Diego, California locations.

 

Overview: TS is searching for qualified, self-motivated Environmental Specialists and Field Supervisors that have the desire and ambition to further their careers in the environmental industry. TS offers industry specific, continuous training for all of our field positions. These positions will work in a supervised and/or independent capacity to successfully, and safely, complete scheduled projects for one of TS' hazardous waste disposal customers in an ?in-plant services environment,? or out in the field.

 

Responsibilities may include manifesting, lab packing, labeling, loading and coordinating transportation, and sampling/profiling waste streams while adhering to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

 

Qualifications: B.S. degree in a science discipline with knowledge of chemistry highly preferred. Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a commercial drivers license (Class B) within 6 months from date of hire. 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is also highly preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.

 

NOTE: These positions have a very high customer service and customer interaction component. TS is seeking those candidates with exceptional interpersonal skills that will represent our interests with the utmost professionalism.

 

Job Duties: Samples and profiles hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures for approval. Knowledge of disposal site capabilities and limitations prior to shipment to ensure efficient disbursement and storage of hazardous wastes. Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems. Comply with and enforce all environmental, health, and safety, procedures in accordance with TS policies. Ensure completion and accuracy of all DOT/EPA/TS regulations required in submitting paperwork to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.Operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to insure optimum efficiency and effectiveness to complete project(s) in a timely manner.Knowledge and understanding of contract terms and possess ability to follow through on assignments.

 

This is NOT a bench or laboratory chemist position! We are looking for candidates who have a strong knowledge of chemistry who are capable of working in the field under various types of weather and working conditions who are flexible with their work schedules.
