Environmental Health & Safety Scientist

Responsibilities:
Tetra Tech EC, a full service environmental consulting, engineering, construction and remediation company, has a need for an Environmental Health and Safety Scientist in Commerce City, CO.

Responsibilities include overall organizational and technical support and direction for the on-site health and safety program. Maintenance, evaluation and improvement of the site's existing OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star Status safety program. Develops and communicates safety program goals, initiatives, progress and status through written reports, meetings, and training. Advises, audits, and assists company and subcontractor personnel in safe work practices and procedures.

Experiences Requirements:
The chosen candidate will have at least 5 years experience and be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or shall have at minimum 10 years of progressively responsible health and safety experience. Substantial experience in construction safety and industrial hygiene programs required. Prior experience working on environmental remediation/construction projects is required, and experience at OSHA Voluntary Protection Program sites is preferred.

Skills Required:
The candidate will possess well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills; training and learning facilitation experience; as well as computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases. The candidate will advise, audit, and assist company and subcontractor personnel in safe work practices and procedures. This position will involve extensive work in the field.


Education Requirements:
Minimum BS/BA Degree, and 6 to 7 years experience
