Environmental Planner/Project Manager

SWCA Environmental Consultants is actively seeking to fill an Environmental Planner/Project Manager position with experience in resource management and conservation planning for our Flagstaff, Arizona office.  This position is a regular, full-time salaried position. Salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience.



 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for the Environmental Planner/Project Manager position include:Serve as project manager or assistant project manager for a variety of resource management planning and NEPA processes;Demonstrate expertise in federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to resource management and planning in Arizona and the Southwest.Manage NEPA documentation and compliance projects including management of budgets, multidisciplinary teams and sub-consultants, background research and data collection, development and preparation of alternatives, analysis of land use and socioeconomic, and coordination of the preparation of other sections of documents that may be prepared by resources specialist;Take initiative, resolve issues to assure client needs are met effectively;Work closely with SWCA?s other managers and directors in both natural and cultural resources throughout the company on interoffice projects and business development initiatives;



 

Qualifications:

Master?s degree in environmental planning, environmental science or a related field. At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in resource management planning and preparing NEPA documents. Working knowledge of NEPA, as well as local, state and federal land use policies. Direct project experience with local, federal and/or state agencies is highly desirable. Experience with public involvement and facilitation skills desired. Endangered species or cultural resources regulatory programs and permitting experience are also a plus.  Excellent organizational, oral, written and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to travel as needed for projects throughout Arizona. Willingness to learn and grow into increased project-management responsibilities.
