Environmental Services Technician

Overview : Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California is situated at the foot of the scenic Sierra Nevada Mountains. Responsibilities :

Learns and follows cleaning and safety procedures according to policy and procedures and sefety guidelines including proper use of chemical, knowledge of MSDS and emergency procedures. Collects trash, biohazard waste and soiled linens and receives, stocks and distributes clean linen to ensure hospital operations run smooth and effectively. Receives, stores and dispenses supplies to ensure that facility departments receive their materials without interrupting their schedules. Identifies equipment/supply needs prior to running out to ensure adequate resources are available in performing quality health care services, and to meet with budgeting compliance. Completes check off sheets, logs and timecards accurately to uphold the integrity of the individual and the department. Attends department meetings, in-services, orientations and yearly orientation in order to continue and reinforce the learning process on policies, equipment and chemical use, and safe and emergency requirements. Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions. This position will, from time to time, perform floor care and light maintenance duties such as; maintain hard-surfaced floors, inclusive of stripping, reseal or undercoating, top coating, waxing, buffing and other maintenance requirements; performs carpet extraction, carpet shampooing and stain removal to all carpeted floors; cleans upholstery and furniture with wet clean procedure; ensures proper upkeep, appearance and use of equipment in the performance of duties and reports any deficiencies to the housekeeping supervisor.

Qualifications :

Must be able to communicate in the English language. Excellent customer service required.
