General Description:

Mid-to high-level environmental specialist/planner (Two Positions)

 

Industry Experience:

-Bachelor?s degree in environmental planning, geography, city and regional planning or a related field. Master?s degree is desirable.

-Minimum 2 to 3 years in a related field; 5+ years for higher level position.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Researches, writes and processes documents prepared in accordance with CEQA/NEPA for a variety of public and private projects, primarily in Southern California. Works individually and as part of a team on the following:

Assembly and synthesis of data related to land use and environmental planning policies and other environmental issues addressed in CEQA and NEPA.

Coordination with technical staff and sub consultants preparing technical reports on topics such as biological resources, cultural resources, noise, air quality, geology/soils, hydrology/water quality, and hazardous materials. Create summary technical report data for use in CEQA/NEPA documents.

Coordinate with technical staff in document preparation, editing, production and distribution tasks. Interface with graphics and GIS staff as well as word processing staff. Higher level positions will be responsible for managing projects, direct client contact, lead identification, tracking and other business development responsibilities.

 Extensive research and writing involving phone contact with government and  jurisdictional agencies, Internet searches, library file research, drafting, editing and revising EIR sections. Regular communication and feedback to project managers.

Attend project meetings both inside and outside the office including client meetings.

 

Essential Skills:

? Ability to work in challenging environments, alone and as part of a team

? Service-oriented, motivated self starter with sound business practices

? Must be able to travel to various work sites within Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and  San Diego Counties

? Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills

? Excellent understanding of environmental planning

? Proficient in MS Word and Excel. A solid understanding of MS Outlook and  database management software programs.
