Environmental & Safety Trainer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and other applicable regulations.

2. Trains new hires in areas of SOPs and safety and environmental regulations.

3. Maintains and updates lesson plans and training modules used to orient new hires or train existing personnel.

4. Performs certification / re-certification of personnel; trains all employees, as needed for corrective action, preventative measures and safety issues.

5. Develops and disseminates, enrolls program participants, monitors program effectiveness, tracks attendance, maintains training records and prepares periodic reports.

6. Updates training and testing procedures to respond to new SOPs and regulations.

7. Prepares, edits and coordinates the production of training materials, develops specialized training materials and sessions. 

8. Revises and updates training policies and procedures.

9. Serves ESD to enhance performance of all company personnel for compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

10. Performs other safety or environmental related duties as assigned. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Education:  M.S. Degree in Environmental and Safety or related discipline with 2 years direct experience. B.S. Degree in Environmental and Safety or related discipline with 4 years direct experience. Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and safety laws, regulations and guidelines as related to functions of the position as a trainer. Direct experience may be used in lieu of degrees.

2. Experience:  Requires 2-4 years work experience in environmental and safety field. 1+ years experience as an EHS trainer or instructor required.

3. Specialized knowledge: Certified Environmental Trainer (CET) or OSHA 501 certification desired.

4. Must possess an intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point, etc.).

5. Skills: Must be a seasoned environmental and safety topic instructor. Able to communicate effectively to all levels of management and staff.

 Work Environment and Physical Demands

1. Primary office environment, but occasional field operations with exposure to harsh weather climate of extreme heat and dust.

2. Office environment.  Work days:  Saturday through Wednesday.  Hours:  6 AM ? 5PM, except Wednesday, 7 AM ? 4 PM.  48 hour work week.
