Hazard Communication Specialist

Develops, under the direction of a Senior Product Safety Specialist, MSDSs for ADD products distributed within the US and communicates product safety information to other ADD sites for compliance with country specific hazard communication regulations and requirements. This includes maintaining systems and databases with accurate and complete information for all ADD products distributed worldwide.
Develops, under the direction of a Senior Product Safety Specialist, required hazard warning information for ADD products, and then reviews and approves all product labels, package inserts and instrument operation manuals to ensure all hazard warnings are incorporated.
Supports the Senior Product Safety Specialists in addressing EHS issues and concerns during the development of new and existing ADD products by participating in Design Input and Risk Analysis and Risk Assessment process.

Qualifications
First: Comprehensive working knowledge of chemical and biological properties and interactions; Second: General knowledge in identifying the hazards associated with reagents and instruments relative to personal and equipment safety and the environment; Third: Ability to critically review, with attention to detail, primary and secondary label copy to ensure compliance with hazard communication regulations; Fourth: Knowledge of US and European hazard communication regulations and requirements a plus; Fifth: A working knowledge of safety, environmental and transportation regulations; Sixth: Ability to effectively use both oral and written communication to exchange ideas and information; Seventh: Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets and databases; Eighth: Familiarity with ADD quality systems and AMM a plus: and Ninth: Experience: BS 2-5 yrs.
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Safety, Toxicology, Biology or equivalent life science degree.
