ISO 14001 Compliance Specialist (EMS)

Canon USA is seeking an EMS Specialist (ISO 14001) to help drive the company's EMS. Based at Lake Success, the successful candidate will be an integral team member of the Environmental Management & Product Safety Department. Responsibilities will include:

'Provide assistance in developing systems, tools and procedures to support the EMS;
'Contribute to the setting of environmental objectives and targets;
'Support the continued enhancement of Environmental Management Programs so that the company's environmental targets and objectives can be achieved;
'Provide support to the ongoing maintenance activities associated with the EMS and monitor progress against environmental policy, corporate objectives and legal requirements;
'Participate in audits of the company's EMS to ensure compliance; and
'Plan and participate in training and development campaigns to enhance environmental awareness throughout the organization.

The candidate should have a Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (Environmental Science, Environmental Policy & Law, Regulatory Affairs, etc.) and a minimum of two (2) years related experience. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of an effective team. A strong knowledge of MS Office applications is desirable.
