Industrial Hygienist - Kuwait

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Survey/evaluate areas of potentially harmful hazards.

2. Determine/follow appropriate sampling strategies to characterize hazard exposure.

3. Send samples (via chain of custody) to appropriate labs.

4. Analyze sample results to establish Permissible Exposure Limits (degree of health risk).

5. Recommend corrective measures.

6. Write technical/survey reports and debrief management/military leadership.

7. Coordinate/identify personnel medical monitoring wit supervisors and Occupational Medicine.

8. Assist with administration/management of Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection and Radiation Safety Programs.

9. Maintain office Documentation (industrial case files, correspondence, sampling data and sensitive information).

10. Develop/conduct required training.

11. Maintain survey equipment, monitors TMDE calibration cycles, calibrate select items, before/after use.

12. Maintain adequate levels of expendable supplies.

13. Performs other related tasks as directed. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 Education:  High School diploma or equivalent. Science related courses (chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, physiology and anatomy.  Advanced science studies are highly desirable.  Two year degree in Industrial Health recommended.  Supervisory training is a plus.

 Experience:  Minimum four years industrial hygiene or radiation safety experience.  Supervisory and military experience is highly desirable.

 Specialized knowledge: Advanced Math, Science and English skills (grammar, spelling and punctuation). Possess a general understanding of military protocol/organization/supply systems.

 Skills: Demonstrate advanced organizational/planning skills. Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet research).  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).  Good interpersonal skills (all levels of workers, management and military).  Have or obtain a Kuwait drivers license.  Normal color vision is required.  Requires good health and the ability to wear a respiratory.  Must have good briefing and teaching skills. Be able to drive a manual transmission.

 Work Environment and Physical Demands

1.  Work in office and industrial environments.

2.  Observe all safety and health requirements for office/industrial workplaces.

3.  Required to work under a variety of environmental conditions (extreme heat, high winds, blowing dust) and potentially hazardous environments ( noise, radiation, chemical and particulates)
