Monitoring Technician - Environmental

Job Summary

Collects, measures and records data from landfill systems, such as wells, conveyance lines, flare station, pumps and counters. Inspects monitoring devices.?Transcribes data to field sheets and may input data to computer storage systems. Performs QA/QC on measured data. Other duties may include:Monitoring?compressor and conveyance systems. Sample collections of stormwater and leachate.Monitoring?probes, gas wells, wells and liquid level sounding.Gas extraction monitoring and liquid level measurements of trench collectors.Calibration of monitoring equipment (OVA's, OVM's, etc.) and daily equipment and utilities inspections.Labor work as assigned by the Foreman.

Education and/or Experience RequiredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-2 years related experience and/or training.40 hours hazardous waste training preferred.

Physical DemandsIn this position, ?the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.The employee must be physically fit to properly wear a respirator or other personal protective gear required. The employee must be able to legally drive a company vehicle on and off the site.

Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.The employee understand that he/she is employed at a site containing hazardous waste and that such materials may be encountered during work activity. Provisions have been made to allow the safe conduct of work at this site.
