Pre-Design Inspection Field Team Member

CDM has an immediate opening at the Libby, MT field office for a pre-design inspection (PDI) field team member. Successful candidate will be part of a two-person field team that collects supplemental data and performs verbal interviews with property owners in support of site-specific remedial action designs. Tasks include, but are not limited to, collecting soil, dust, and bulk building material samples, sketching building attributes and property layouts, and conducting interviews with the property owner. Additionally, the candidate is responsible for data interpretation and implementing project-specific remedial action protocol. The PDI field team member works closely with offsite design engineers to complete the design.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline with 2 plus years of engineering, science, or construction experience. Must be OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER trained, up-to-date annual refresher and medical monitoring. Excellent communication skills are also required as the work involves regular face-to-face communication with residence and business owners.

Work requires hauling sample equipment to and from properties. The candidate must be able to lift at least 25 pounds, climb stairways and ladders, and enter/exit attics/crawlspaces frequently. Some work requires level C personal protective equipment (provided by CDM). A project vehicle will be provided. The PDI position requires flexibility in hours. Must be willing to work 40+ hours during peak construction season.
