REDMOND - ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES HOUSEKEEPER

Schedule:
Full-time 80 hrs per pay period, evening shift 3 pm-11:30 pm, various days, every other weekend

Description:

REDMOND - ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES HOUSEKEEPER performs all cleaning throughout the hospital including main lobby, business office, lab, x-ray, physical therapy, inhalation therapy, women's care unit, I.C.U., emergency room, administrative offices, patient rooms, isolation room cleaning, discharge patient room cleaning, restrooms, waiting areas and all facilities within. Wet mops, dusts, vacuums, stocks cleaning cart and janitor's closet. Performs duties such as floor finishing, floor polishing, carpet shampooing, wall washing, trash and soiled linen pickup, furniture shampooing, vacuuming halls with the big vacuum. Performs other duties assigned by the manager, coordinator or supervisor. Must be able to work in a fast paced ever changing work environment with frequent interruptions, maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality at all times. Must work as a team member with co-workers. Latitude for decision making limited to task prioritization within established timelines.

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques and demonstrates knowledge in accordance with CHC policies and procedures within pertinent laws and regulations in the following areas:
1. In a timely manner performs all tasks involved in maintaining a clean and germ free environment for patients and guests in the hospital and clinics.
2. Consistently meets standard for cleaning and maintaining equipment.
3. Works as a team member.

Requirements:
Education / Experience: Must have sufficient education to be able to read, write, make simple calculations and be able to follow oral and written directions. One to two years experience in hospital cleaning is desired but not essential. May be trained on the job. Must be familiar with household cleaning devices such as brooms, mops, floor waxes, squeegees and standard procedures for cleaning walls and floors, shampooing carpet and floor finishing.

Other Qualifications/ License / Certificates: N/A.

Technical/Computer Skills: Understands and has a working knowledge of the Windows environment. Demonstrates an ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. Can access and send messages through E-mail.
