Risk Assessor (Environmental)

Job Description: This position is for a Environmental Scientist/Risk Assessor conducting human health and ecological risk assessments primarily for hazardous waste site investigations. Work will include providing technical support in assessing risk, evaluating and interpreting risk assessment results, constructing spreadsheets, and writing large technical reports. The ideal candidate should have a comfortable working knowledge of risk assessment methods and trends. The candidate must be able to work with team members of varied technical persuasions.

Education: B.S. in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 4 + years of experience.
Required Skills: The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of existing risk assessment methods and, preferably but not required, knowledge of emerging trends in assessing and analyzing risk. The individual must have experience with spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel preferred) and word processing software (Microsoft Word preferred). Candidate must be highly organized, possess attention to detail, and have good verbal and writing skills. Applicant must be available on a full-time, in-office basis.

Desired Skills: Working knowledge of CERCLA RI/FS, RCRA RFI/CMS, or ASTM RBCA processes is desired. Knowledge of statistical concepts and experience in data analysis for hazardous waste site investigations is a plus. Working for or with state and environmental regulators is a plus.
