Job Description

 

American Commercial Lines LLC (ACL) is a fully integrated network of marine transportation companies, operating approximately 3,200 barges and 124 towboats on the inland waterways of North and South America and transporting more than 45 million tons of freight annually. Additionally, ACL operates marine construction, repair and ancillary service facilities, and river terminals.

 

We have an immediate need for a Safety Coordinator at our Jeffboat facility located in Jeffersonville, IN.  This position is responsible for minimizing the company's exposure to occupational illness and injury by administering a comprehensive safety program.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field One (1) to Three (3) plus years of related safety and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment Familiar with the operating characteristics of material handling equipment, crane operation and capabilities Familiar with OSHA, EPA regulations and personal protection equipment Knowledgeable of hazardous materials/MSDS information Ability to supervise others and facilitate teamwork Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills  Detail oriented with strong organizing and problem solving skills Ability to effectively manage time-sensitive, high pressure situations
