We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant for our Environmental Services department in San Francisco.

 

Senior Environmental Consultant

 

Responsibilities:

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

Manage remedial investigations and remedial actions at former manufactured gas plant and third party sites; develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget, and obtain management authorization for environmental site remediation projects; ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements; communicate with project team members and internal/external stakeholders regarding project status, plans and ongoing activities.

 

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION AND TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT:

Identify, select, and manage environmental consultants, remediation contractors, and internal technical staff in performance of remedial investigations; develop contracts through competitive bidding process; and ensure production and delivery of work products in accordance with job requirements and contract specifications. 

 

REGULATORY AGENCY AND THIRD PARTY INTERACTION:

Serve as company representative with environmental regulatory agencies and third parties; prepare communications regarding site investigations and remedial actions; develop responses to third party or agency inquiries; obtain necessary permits or agreements to perform site activities; negotiate and fulfill compliance, cleanup, and closure requirements. 

 

CORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORT:

Monitor and provide advice on environmental regulations, statutes, and policies regarding remedial investigations and cleanup requirements; track innovative-cost effective solutions for soil and groundwater investigations and remediation at former MGP or third party sites.  Provide technical or project management support to other site remediation project managers.

 

BUDGET AND LIABILITY FORECAST: Provide quarterly input to budget reports and liability forecasts for ongoing and future remediation projects. 

 

Essential/Required:Demonstrated technical writing and oral communication skills Demonstrated positive interpersonal and team building skills Knowledge of environmental regulations (CERLA, RCRA, TSCA, CWA, and applicable California Environmental Laws) At least 10 years site remediation experience BA/BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or Geology

 

Marginal/Desired:MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or Geology Licensed in the state of California as a Professional Civil Engineer or Geologist
