Senior Field Ecologist/Project Manager

GKY&A is a water resources engineering and environmental services consulting firm specializing in water resources, stream assessment/restoration, wetlands, water quality, and stormwater management.  While we are a certified small business, we are recognized as a national leader in water resources, solving complex problems for the Department of Transportation, the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Academies, and other federal and local municipal agencies as well as private clients.  We are located in Northern Virginia in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. 

 

The Opportunity:

 

The successful applicant will provide technical leadership, project management, and business development support to our environmental services team.  This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to help build our team and to grow professionally in the process. 

 

Qualifications:

 

? B.S. (M.S. preferred) in one of the following disciplines is required: ecology, environmental science, wetland sciences, natural resources, biological sciences, forestry or related field.

? 5 years of professional, hands-on experience with most of the following:

 

? Wetland Delineation

? Stream Assessment/Classification (SAAM, SICAM, RBP, Rosgen, etc.)

? Environmental Permitting (Section 401/404)

? Tree Cover/Vegetation Surveys

? GPS/GIS software and equipment

 

? Professional Wetland Scientist certification preferred

? Fieldwork in difficult terrain and harsh conditions will be required

? Authorized to work in United States
