We are seeking qualified individuals to join our Frederick, MD facility as a Solar Module Process Engineer in our Frederick, MD location. The Solar Module Process Engineer will use six sigma improvement tool, project management skills, team leadership, and basic engineering skills to establish and maintain very tight process control of our solar (photovoltaic) module assembly manufacturing operations.  Solar Module Process Engineer will also be responsible for conducting and coordinating the implementation of new technologies, new products, and process improvements.

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

? Responsible for technical expertise and support of the manufacturing operation including implementing improvements to the operating procedures and quality system.

? Creates process control plans and work instructions for new and existing solar module manufacturing processes. 

? Designs, runs and evaluates process trials to maintain optimum output.Leads the transition and implementation of new technologies, new equipment, new products, new material and production techniques from Technology and Product Development or Project groups to Operations.Investigates process excursions, and determine how to prevent their future occurrence.Assists with testing and qualification of new materials and evaluates material specifications, cost and performance. Has responsibility and authority to identify any non-conforming products or materials and to initiate action to control these products/materials concerned and prevent reoccurrence.

? Carries out responsible and varied engineering assignments, requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields.

? Makes independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions and decisions.  Refers difficult, complex or unusual matters or decisions to more senior authority.Promotes commercial awareness and performance monitoring within the factory to reduce cost.Constantly monitors and reacts quickly to changes in safety, environmental and operating conditions/unplanned events to minimize negative impact on the business. Supports the training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.

? Promotes and ensures the control of Safe Work Practices and procedures.  Ensures all HSE Management processes and policies are followed.

? Contributes to the skills training of operators so as to develop a safe, informed, flexible and multi-skilled workforce

 

Qualified candidates will have experience with selecting and commissioning equipment, and working with technical / operations personnel with PV, electrical / electronic or High Tech Equipment or processes and writing technical documentation, procedures and reports. A B.S.or M.S. in Engineering Discipline and approximately 3 to 5 years relevant experience in most aspects of manufacturing and technical operations of  photovoltaic module assembly or related assembly manufacturing process . Six Sigma green belt or black belt certification a plus.
