MWH has an opening for a Staff Engineer-Environmental for our office in Brea, California.

Assignments may include the design of remediation systems for contaminated soil and groundwater, investigation of the distribution of contaminants in the environment, treatment technology evaluations, oversight of construction projects, project management, proposal preparation, participation in presentations to clients, and other duties as assigned. Site investigation and field testing work expected to include design, installation, and operation of multilevel monitoring systems in various lithologies, as well as data acquisition, management, and analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a team environment and to take on increasing responsibility as ability allows.

1. Collaborate with other technical professionals and support or lead field teams in performing activities such as soil and water sample collection, hydrogeologic studies, remediation system pilot studies, remediation system operation and maintenance (O&M), and multi-media environmental compliance studies.
2. Maintain thorough documentation of activities performed in the field, and communicate details of progress of field activities to the Project or Task Manager daily during periods of field work.
3. Organize, draft and coordinate technical reports such as remedial investigation and environmental site assessment reports, feasibility studies, corrective measures studies, etc., to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
4. Perform Project Management duties on small and medium-size projects, including, but not limited to, developing preliminary budgets and conducting budget management activities, determining the scope of work, establishing schedules, meeting the client's expectations, conducting technical work, reviewing invoices, and maintaining client relationships.
5. Capable and experienced in managing and performing projects in a fast paced environment. Should understand quality control functions to ensure the production of high quality deliverables to our clients.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field).
2 - 6 years of environmental consulting experience.
Excellent organizational, technical, data interpretation, written and verbal communication skills, and computer competency.
Well organized, eager to contribute to the project team. Willing to take on a wide variety of field, project management, business development, organizational management, and reporting tasks.
