Administrator - Retirement Community

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated prior organizational management and change leadership skills in the long term care industry and possess the skill and qualifications to perform the job below

JOB TITLE: ADMINISTRATOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
Operating under broad guidelines, established by the Board, the incumbent is responsible for meeting the needs of the residence of the Home and insuring the achievement of stated strategic, organizational, and operational objectives agreed to
QUALIFICATIONS:
? A Bachelor?s degree with a Nursing Home Administrator?s license for the State of Illinois
? A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive organizational management and change experience in a dynamic organizational setting
? A history of significant progressive organizational leadership and study or experience beyond a Bachelor?s degree in the fields of finance and business, leadership and change management
Nature & Scope:
In concert with the Board of Governance of the Home, this position is responsible to:
? Insure a culture of quality care for the residents of the Home by;
o Affirming, through leadership, the importance of person centered care and service by establishing systems that, within reason and the organizations ability, that focus on meeting the elicited needs of its residents
o Affirming the primacy of each resident?s quality of life by working to meet their need for security and care, by actively supporting personal growth, and by further promoting their intellectual and spiritual health and social well being
o Insuring the development of systems that maximize excellent care and services that adopt state of the art programs and practices
o Developing an interdisciplinary approach that utilizes Continuous Quality Improvement methodology
o Serving as an ambassador and advocate for the residents by inviting families, members of the Masonic and local community, to become partners in care and services for the residents
o Promoting an end of life care which respects the personal and spiritual preferences of each person
? Provide organizational leadership to the staff by;
o Directing efforts to articulate and win support for the organization?s vision, mission, and goals
o Develop with families, and the Masonic community, an environment in which they are partners in long term care and independent living
o Establishing an organizational quality improvement process and productivity program that enhances the quality of care, services and operations for the Home.
o Maintaining a professional relationship process with all members of the governance process of the Home and Fraternity
o Strives to procure and optimize the resources of the Home aimed at the achievement of stated organizational objectives and based upon sound financial management
o Insuring the development and achievement of organizational, departmental and individual goals and objectives
o Actively creating a climate of understanding with key stakeholders of the Home and informing them on a regular basis on progress made in achieving the organizational goals and the organizations performance
o Continuing to educate the staff on an understanding of the organization?s mission and values and their role in achieving them
o Encouraging professional and personal growth through orientation, continuing education and by encouraging and developing a culture of innovation
o Recruiting and selecting employees who are not only able to perform the functions of their responsibilities but are equally committed to the organizations philosophy and culture of care
? Establishes a professional Administrative climate for the Home by;
o Creating a physical environment consistent with the organizations mission and values aimed at enhancing the quality of life for every resident
o Oversees the maintenance of a safe, clean, and appealing surrounding that adheres to codes of safety, public health, and local law
o Insures the continued maintenance of the facilities through the implementation of a Preventive Maintenance program
o Insures the continued development and administration of systems consistent with law and regulation, intended to retain valued employees (i.e. human resource policies, compensation, benefits, training and development, and succession planning)
o Insuring adherence to established policies, procedures and regulatory and legal requirements
o Oversees the creation and implementation of a safety program which includes fire, emergency, disaster, evacuation and transfer plans
? Protect and optimize the fiscal resources provided by;
o Designing a budgetary plan that is consistent with the goals of the organization and each of its departments
o Following sound financial management and accounting procedures that include financial supervision, checks and balance, monitoring cash flow, clearly drawn contracts, and corporate compliance
o Oversees and controls systems that safeguard residents finances
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The incumbent is accountable for everything that occurs and or does not occur within the Home and as such is responsible to take necessary corrective action, consistent with the established policies and procedures of the Home, to insure compliance and achievement of stated organizational objectives
