Campaign Director - FairTax

FairTax.org is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots organization dedicated to replacing federal income and payroll taxes with a national sales tax.  Based in Houston, Texas, FairTax.org has thousands of members and volunteers nationwide.

 

The creation of the Campaign Director position reflects the momentum of the grassroots support of the FairTax.  The Campaign Director will create an activist grassroots organization by building upon existing activities, including volunteer engagement, event and rally coordination, training, and field leader communication.

 

The Campaign Director will be responsible for running the day-to-day activities of this issue-based campaign.  The Campaign Director will work closely with advocates at the state and national levels, to provide both substantive and strategic input and assistance on campaign development and implementation. The Campaign Director will provide tactical assistance to FairTax Plan advocates, including organizing grassroots support, determining grassroots communications strategy; coordinating Calls to Action with volunteers; and disseminating underlying research.

 

Qualified candidates will have significant experience in managing campaigns that are issue-based.  Qualified candidates will have superior communication skills, and, ideally, will have project management and supervisory experience.

 

Skills should include: Ability to create, implement, and execute strategic plan tailored to specific demographics of each district, manage budget and ensure volunteer recruitment goals are met. Should possess the ability to problem solve, work well with others, and work long and challenging hours.

Primary responsibility:  Develop and implement the next phase of issue-based campaign, building on our national base of supporters, staff and active volunteers.

Required Experience & Education

7+ years experience in campaign, grassroots or volunteer-based initiatives.

Minimum BA/BS in Marketing, Finance, Business, or Economics

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
