Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field. Knowledge of affirmative action/equal opportunity laws and regulations and strategic planning.Experience in preparing affirmative action plans.Demonstrated expertise in employee relations.Expertise in personal computer applications, such as Microsoft OfficeSkill in written and interpersonal communication, public speaking, training, and grant proposal writing.Records management skills.Ability to manage audits, on-site inspections, and responses to complaints.Ability to analyze situations and develop effective solutions.Ability to provide leadership and direction.Ability to develop or direct development of automated databases.Ability to work/participate in university and community events during non-traditional hours (e.g., evenings and weekends) as required.
Scope of Responsibilities:Plan and direct all department activities through a team of administrative, professional, and support staff; oversee personnel administration and professional development of staff.Prepare the University's affirmative action plan; compile and monitor University departments' goals, objectives, and strategies; collaborate with department heads to develop and implement programs and activities to accomplish goals.Advise Vice President and University leadership on AA/EEO related issues.Monitor and evaluate University compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and affirmative action requirements and University policy.Provide support to hiring authorities in recruitment and selection of employees to achieve affirmative action objectives.Identify equal opportunity and affirmative action developmental areas within the University and develop strategies and programs to achieve resolution.Serve as University liaison with governmental agencies, professional organizations, and other representatives on equal opportunity issues.Coordinate with other parties on the university-wide approach to disability/accessibility issues, with a particular emphasis on facilities.Participate with the Employment Manager in the design, selection, and implementation of recruiting tools, including testing, candidate tracking, and sourcing.Conduct programs and disseminate information to the University community to increase awareness of equal opportunity issues, legal requirements, and harassment prevention.Work with the Vice Provost for Diversity and Academic Initiatives and University Counsel; collaborate with AA/EEO and diversity initiatives University-wide.Oversee the Workforce Analysis process.Participate in division-wide strategy to promote positive employee relations.Serve on various department, division, and University committees.Plan monitor and maintain department budget and approve operating expenses. Perform related duties as assigned.
