Director, Strategic Market Analysis

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads market analysis, strategic product planning, and forecasting for Dey.

* Active member of the Marketing Department Leadership Team.
* Lead the annual strategic planning and portfolio optimization process for the Marketing Department.
* Lead the in-line product forecasting process for Dey and the Marketing Department.
* Responsible for the pipeline product and strategic product forecasting (four year and ten year plan) for Dey.
* Manage a team which fulfills the following functions for Dey.
* Forecasting support, which provides product trending to create demand forecasts, quantification of market events, conversion of demand to factory sales forecasts, conversion of gross to net factory sales forecasts.
* Market and Competitive intelligence, which includes a database of competitive profiles of Dey's key competitor companies and each of Dey brands key competitors, R&D pipeline summary by therapeutic category (asthma, COPD, allergy), ongoing alerts to events, and information in the marketplace that may impact DEY's brands.
* Product performance monitoring and reporting, which includes providing weekly and monthly retail and institutional product and market updates (Rx trending, market share/growth, and specialty and indication segmented analysis) through NDC and IMS data.
* Analysis to support strategic product planning, which includes Situational Analyses for each brand, market research necessary for developing and testing each products positioning, promotional concepts and messaging, on-going market analysis.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

* An advanced degree (MBA or other advanced degree) or equivalent work experience.
* In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry dynamics; how the market operates; how physicians decide which products to choose and product demand.
* In-depth knowledge and experience with pharmaceutical industry forecasting best practices.
* A minimum of eight to ten years pharmaceutical market research experience.
* Experience with designing demand creation forecasting models.
* Must have a strong record of accomplishment in market research, competitive intelligence, and forecasting, with excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
* Must be a strategic and creative thinker with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
