Director of Operations -- Special Needs Medicare Program

A rapidly growing Disease Management Company that is redefining the way that consumers manage their health seeks an experienced, well ? qualified 

 

Director of Operations ? Special Needs Medicare Program

 

The Director of Operations is responsible for oversight and is accountable for achieving expected performance of each operational component

 

You have extensive experience in health plan, managed care, disease management and government program operations.

(Physician practice management, and provider side operations experience is NOT the right background here)

You can lead and direct all operational functions to insure optimal performance.

You will integrate claims management into an overall strategy

You are comfortable managing vendor relationships

 

Oversight responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

? centralized functions

? assessment centers

? call center

? telephonic management

? coaching call units  

 

Additionally, the Director, with the President and other department heads as appropriate, will analyze financial and operational reports to identify variances from established standards and to create and implement corrective action plans.

General Responsibilities:

 

Operational and Financial Responsibilities:

 

?  Establish and maintain quality and performance indicators to ensure all components accomplish agreed upon goals and objectives.

?  Provide financial and operational oversight support to insure optimal integration of all business units.

?  With the business units, create operational and financial models, identify variances in performance and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

?  Develop and implement, with business unit heads, benchmarking methodologies and management reports.  Compare performance against the organizational and industry standards for efficiency of operations.

?  Identify, research and provide appropriate recommendations for improving processes and implementing new programs.

?  Lead and develop interrelationships between market and corporate operations and other departments.

?  Develop and implement, with appropriate other resources, the operations strategic plan, tactical plan and measures to drive and evaluate the organization?s long and short-term functions/performance.

?  Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff within and outside of the department, including contracted vendors.

?  In collaboration with the leadership team, develop regional budgets for each fiscal year.  Monitor budget performance on a monthly basis.

 

 Required Education & Experience

 

?  Minimum of 10 years of relevant business operations and development experience.  Experience with a start-up environment strongly preferred.

?  Minimum of 5 years management experience at the Director-level or higher. Experience in disease management and/or health plan/insurance setting.

?  Bachelor?s degree in Business or related field.  Masters in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

?  Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment.

?  Demonstrated ability to lead by influence.

?  Demonstrated excellence in business operations/development.

?  Superior communication skills necessary.

?  An existing network of relationships with managed care organizations, employers, local hospitals, physicians and other care givers is desirable.

?  Excellent computer skills.  Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access is required.

?  Demonstrated excellence in financial management and oversight.

?  Strong management/team building and motivational skills.

?  Demonstrated ability in writing business plans.

?  Demonstrated success in growing businesses in a profitable manner.
