Responsible for the organization and scheduling of the work force and directing the warehouse operations on a day-to-day work plan. Maintains material processing accuracy, productivity and warehouse service levels. Manage and train personnel on warehouse activities, safety, housekeeping, and operational policies/practices to insure a well-coordinated operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Responsible for the daily scheduling of the work force to insure proper staffing to pick, receive, replenish, restock, locate and ship merchandise in a productive and cost efficient manner. Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse operation. Generate warehouse productivity reports in regard to picking/packing rates and accounts for all labor hours. Adhere to budget requirements and work toward obtaining objectives and division goals. Responsible for ensuring employee adherence to warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean work environment for employees. Responsible for ensuring employee adherence to Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, State and local authorities.
Recommend equipment requirements to the Distribution Manager in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency. Review and approve employee time cards bi-weekly. Insure that accurate vacation scheduling is maintained. Complete detailed accurate performance evaluations of all night warehouse personnel. Maintain general responsibility for progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings; insures a productive work climate in the warehouse operation. Responsible for building security to include daily lockup. Will assist with shipping administration tasks.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 35-50 pounds repetitively and safely. Must be able to bend and reach in order to assist with order picking, shipping, quality control, or other functions while a shift is in operation. Associate's degree required and 3-5 years recent supervisory experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
