EMC-President, Foundation

Eden Medical Center is a 275-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving residents of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. The medical center was built by the Eden Township Healthcare District in the midst of the post-war baby boom and first opened its doors in 1954. Since its affiliation with Sutter Health in 1998, it is jointly governed by the Eden Township Healthcare District and Sutter Health. Eden Medical Center has emerged as a leader in trauma care, neurosurgery, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, women's health, adult psychiatry, diagnostic cardiology and health education. Eden Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and has earned recognition from California Medical Review, Inc. for quality medical care. Eden Medical Center includes Eden Hospital, Laurel Grove Hospital (an acute rehabilitation and transitional care center) and Baywood Court Skilled Nursing Facility.



 

Eden Medical Center is a 387-bed, not-for-profit medical center with approximately 1,900 employees at our two campuses.  The Eden Campus in scenic Castro Valley includes Eden Medical Center, Laurel Grove Acute Rehabilitation Hospital and Baywood Court Skilled Nursing Facility.  Eden is home to the regional Level II Trauma Center for Southern Alameda County, the Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center, adult psychiatry, a wide range of rehabilitation services, a Community Cancer Center, advanced imaging services and complete surgical and acute-care services.

 





Through our affiliation with Sutter Health, Eden Medical Center is part of a large network of non-profit hospitals and care centers in Northern California and is linked to nearly 30 acute care hospitals and 4,000 physicians throughout the region.  Together, we’re working to improve the health of our communities.

 

The President/CEO will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Eden Medical Center Foundation. Primary responsibilities include implementation of strategic plans, financial management, staff management and development, fundraising, and board partnerships.  The President/CEO will supervise two employees and has oversight responsibility for program development and evaluation, operations, finance, marketing, and public relations for the Foundation.  The President/CEO serves as the principal advocate to external constituencies.

 

 



Bachelor’s degree is required, professional acceditation desireable.  Other experience could include business development, marketing, or public relations of a similar duration in the healthcare field.  5 years senior level fundraising experience, hospital setting preferred.  Also, senior management and leadership in fund development campaigns and Foundation management.  Change management and organizational leadership experience is a plus.  Direct experience and proven track record of effectively motivating and encouraging support from Board of Trustees, staff, and volunteers involved with philanthropic programs is also required.  Familiarity with Blackbaud’s the Raiser’s Edge and strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent relationship building skills with peers, managers and teams of subordinates, colleagues, and superiors in a complex healthcare environment are also essential.

 

Deep knowledge of major gift fundraising processes is preferred.  Advanced degree at a Master’s level in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
