Executive General Manager

Commercial Packaging is a leading distributor of high-quality packaging materials, serving customers throughout the world.  Commercial Packaging is a family-owned and operated business, founded in 1983. Today we employ over 40 individuals in multiple locations and our fiscal sales are approaching $80 million.

 

Commercial Packaging currently has an opening for a General Manager in our Normal, IL facility.  This position will be responsible for overseeing the daily management of the company and reports directly to the president. 

 Requirements

We are seeking a proactive, high-energy individual capable of supervising multiple department heads and building relationships with auditors, banks, employees, suppliers and customers.  Must be knowledgeable of IT, HR, and Accounting best practices. Candidates should have a hands-on management style with excellent people, systems and Accounting controls experience. Additionally, candidates must have:

 MBA and/or CPA Strong moral and ethical standardsFamiliarity with distributing environmentTrack record of building relationships at all levels8-10 years of financial business management experienceInternational business experiencePackaging industry experience helpful but not required

 Outline of functions  A.  Strategic Business Planning and Development

a.Long-term forecasting and business plan development

b.Monitoring and tracking actual performance to plan

c.Analysis of processes?/systems? performance and ability to suggest required improvements

d.  Internal control development

e. Insurance/legal management

f.  IT development and management

g. HR development

 

B.  Accounting

a.Overall responsibility for validation of accounting systems? integrity

b.Ongoing report development/enhancement

c.  Oversee Accounting department

d.  Oversee payroll function and related activities e.g. 401(k) Plan, Flexible Spending Plans, Section 125 accounts and related compliance requirements

e.  Provide leadership in overseeing budgeting and forecasting with an eye toward both short-term and long-term projections

f.  Review monthly financial results and identify trends that are inconsistent with budget

a. Cash Management

b.  Pro-formas and due diligence evaluation
