General Manager-Private Country Club

A 109 year old club with magnificent old clubhouse that sits high on a hill overlooking downtown Springfield to the east and the mountains of the Connecticut River valley to the north. The club has 500 golf and social members who enjoy the club's challenging golf course. Other amenities include two tennis courts, swimming pool and a very busy food and beverage operation that includes dining in the Main Dining Room, Porch and informal dining in the popular "Tavern on the Green" that overlooks the practice green and the first and tenth tees. The great Springfield area is a very attractive area of western Massachusetts close to Boston and Hartford Connecticut, with excellent school systems and a modest cost of living.

The General Manager will be responsible for the entire property and the results achieved from a well thought out management plan. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader able to motivate and inspire the management team and staff to accomplish goals set by the Board of Governors. He/she will possess food and beverage skills, financial/budgeting expertise and ability to train and re-train new and existing staff. A strong knowledge of gold operations, golf course maintenance and planning are a must. Candidates with business or hospitality degree preferred as are those with the CCM designation or working vigorously to attain it. The ideal candidate would be from the Northeast.

Salary: $90,000 - $97,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. A bonus will be considered after one year of demonstrated achievements. Additional benefits include Insurance, vacation and educational package.

Club has had two managers in this position in the last 10 years.
