Position Title: Director, Quality Systems

Location: Davidson, NC

Position Objectives:

* Determine the effectiveness of product and service quality systems in reducing the costs of waste and increasing quality-to-the customer. Prioritize gaps, and develop a comprehensive improvement strategy that aligns with business needs. Evaluate and refine the quality improvement strategy on an annual basis.
* Develop and support the implementation of common quality systems and tools across the sector.
* Ensure that quality systems, tools and metrics are fully integrated into sector OPEX processes.
* Enable achievement of specific business objectives by managing key quality improvement programs.

Principal Responsibilities:

* Lead Industrial Technology operations in driving down costs of scrap, rework and warranty.
* Develop processes that help operations to improve first-time yield of products and processes.
* Develop tools that help operations to validate NPD process to assure quality at launch for new products
* Participate in company processes to identify best practices for use in the Industrial Technology sector.
* Leads plant-level quality organizations in using quality tools and information technology to standardize and improve the effectiveness of preventive action.
* Ensures timely resolution of quality-related customer & supplier issues.

Requirements:

* Undergraduate degree in engineering
* 10 - 15 years of increasing responsibilities in design /execution of quality systems in a world-class manufacturing organization.
* Six Sigma Black Belt skill level desirable
* Must have demonstrated successes in training/developing people
* Should be effective in connecting strategy with operational, and tactical initiatives with some ambiguity
* Capability to develop and perform evaluations of manufacturing and business processes to determine performance levels and recommend improvement actions
* Ability to develop and document policies and procedures for systematic process improvement
* Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement in a global environment
* Requires domestic and international travel.
