Assignment Capsule
The Market Medical Officer leverages Market, community, and corporate resources to implement local strategic plans, policies, and procedures, in order to achieve sales goals. S/he will:
Educate Customers on the Company's medical service strategy including: disease and medical management, risk stratification and predictive modeling
Consult on specific new and renewal group medical management strategies
Analyze medical cost and utilization trends
Formulate and execute medical management strategies to reduce medical cost trends and optimize the health status of commercial populations
Serve as a senior management/medical liaison within the community as it relates to community and public affairs and developing and managing local physician relations in support of the Company's vision to "disrupt and transform" the industry
Additional responsibilities include focusing on profitable membership growth, guidance and consultation with our commercial customers and the required relationship building within the local provider networks. Collaborate with the Clinical Leadership Organization's "Center of Excellence" to further the sales process through clinical interpretation, information driven strategies, and clinical solutions. Communicate and promote Humana's vision and strategy, including: consumer driven health solutions, choice-based benefit designs, and transparency of information used to empower consumers. Participate on committees that require medical expertise and are required either by regulation or local market conditions. Assist in the transition of the market-based medical management functions to a centralized model and problem solve around transition questions

Process, Operations, Applied Business Fundamentals and Business Strategic Planning: Ability to apply economic and strategic planning models to align business, process and operational principles, models and concepts (eg. in the areas of Finance and Accounting, Product Development and Marketing, Sales & Distribution). Ability to integrate and apply those principles, models and concepts to external and internal environmental conditions to create value for customers, generate profits and achieve desired results.
Clinical Innovations: Understanding of clinical program design, implementation, management/monitoring to support choice in consumer medical care. Understands the medical utilization implications of such programs.
Champions the Customer: You keep closely attuned to the needs and perspectives of customers and use this insight for the benefit of the business.
Communication: You actively listen to others to understand their perspective and ensure continuous understanding regardless of communication channel or audience.
Customer Value Chain: You understand Humana's competitive environment, including the marketplace, health solutions industry, competition and regulatory environment. With this understanding you can translate how the value we create for our customers, consumers and key stakeholders aligns with Humana's vision, business, culture, value proposition, brand promise and strategic imperatives.

KY Medical License
Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills and the ability to build relationship with consumers, employers, and providers at all levels within the marketplace
