Description E&Y's On-Call Advisory Services practice provides the accounting, tax and regulatory analysis and support critical to the successful completion of merger and acquisition transactions, as well as derivative, securitization, leasing, compensation, corporate finance and other structured transactions. Based in New York City and with a global reach, our dedicated team of accounting, tax, and regulatory professionals provide technical accounting research and evaluations.

We currently have a career opportunity for a technical accounting Manager.

Responsibilities
Become a recognized industry authority. Work with major financial institutions, investment banks and Fortune 1000 corporations.

Deliver quality accounting advisory services directly to clients.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex financial accounting concepts.

Collaborate to identify client objectives and issues and to create and recommend approaches.

Develop and maintain productive relationships with management of existing or potentially new clients.

Delegate work effectively. Review work performed by staff and seniors, deliver on-the-job feedback/training and conduct performance reviews.

Commit to developing knowledge and relationships as a member of the On-Call leadership team. Maintain and develop current and effective technical accounting capabilities by leveraging extensive firm resources.

Use technology to share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery.

Understand E&Y's service lines and actively work within a team to assess/pursue opportunities to serve clients.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must have:

* a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or other analytical discipline
* a Certified Public Accountant license
* approximately 5-8 years of experience working for a professional services firm, a financial services institution, or other related entity
* demonstrated capabilities and interests in technical and complex financial accounting
* the ability to stay abreast of current developments and plans at standard setters
* product and transaction knowledge highly beneficial
* a finance background helpful in evaluating models to support accounting conclusions
* strong problem-solving capabilities
* excellent communication skills in a highly technical and professional environment

This position has potential for some travel, although travel is generally short-term in nature.
