Operations Project Supervisor

PETCO has an opportunity for an Operations Project Supervisor to support Operations in achieving their departmental objectives of expense control, profit enhancement, increasing sales and improving customer service through the supervision of analytical tools and roles within the Labor Management Group, including a focus on proper store staffing levels and effective labor planning. The Supervisor is responsible for identifying areas of concern, developing a plan of action, and ensuring the follow-through and success of subordinates.

This position involves communication with many areas of the business, at all levels. Research and analysis is continually shared with the Finance Department. Training and direction is provided to subordinates, store associates, and Field Operations Management with a focus on expense control, effective staffing and labor scheduling.

This position will coordinate with Information Systems in certain initiatives such as a labor scheduling software implementation. The Supervisor will also oversee the end user support of various internally-developed and third party software solutions.

This position will maintain strong control and guidance over store operations, through the management of an online Policy & Procedures repository, as well as researching and publishing Best Practices towards more efficient store processes.

There is also a focus on process flow internally at the National Support Center (corporate offices). This position will identify opportunities of internal support to the Expense Management, Visual Merchandising, Store Design, and Store Prototype Development areas of the Operations Department.

Education and Experience:
The minimum education required for this position is a BA or BS degree in Business or Industrial Engineering, or the equivalent of 5 years experience in Finance/Accounting, business analyses, or industrial engineering. A minimum of 3 years experience in store operations or implementing cost reduction programs, proven logic-driven problem solving ability and extensive computer software skills working with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, & MS Project are required. Familiarity with basic accounting rules and terminology in the corporate environment is required. Excellent organizational and project management skills as well as strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required. Prefer 5 or more years of experience. Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
