JOB SUMMARY:

 

This position plays a leadership role in providing dedicated flow-thru service to a high profile customer with operations located throughout the country.  This individual acts as a representative of the company’s ability to operate professionally and bring added value through innovative cost-cutting ideas.  This position also performs in accordance with a procedural structure developed for this account. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the flow-thru team on the designated shift in all aspects of distribution, including: loading shipments, unloading shipments, inventory accuracy, quality processes, timeliness of execution, employee performance.  The Operations Supervisor will also conduct employee reviews, design task assignments, and participate on cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement.  The Operations Supervisor will have direct supervisory responsibility for 20-50 employees, and must demonstrate sound leadership principles.  The Operations Supervisor must also provide paramount customer service that is conducive to a long term relationship with a high profile customer.  Excellent customer service includes maintaining an open honest relationship with the site customer and operating in a professional manner that represents both the customer and company’s best interest. 



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


1. Bachelor's Degree (Supply Chain Management degree preferred)

 

2. Five (5) years experience in operations and two (2) years minimum management experience.


3. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to all levels of personnel.


4. Ability to conduct small group presentations and provide feedback in a constructive manner, as well as communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, and vendors.


5. Effective organization, planning and prioritization abilities.


6. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.  Ability to identify issues, requirements and opportunities for improvement.


7. Must be creative, idea-oriented and have the ability to present concepts or recommendations to make changes in procedures.


8. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to perform under pressure in an efficient and economical manner.


9. Proficient understanding of and ability to utilize PC and mainframe computer applications including the Internet.
