Quality Assurance Manager

Summary Develop, implement, and manage effective quality assurance policies and programs for this unique specialty/converting operation. Provide direction and manage the Quality Assurance staff that ensures its success.

Summary of Key Duties/Responsibilities:

o Manage the overall quality system, provide feedback to upper management.

o Manager/supervise the employees of the Quality Department.

o Manage the overall costs of the Quality Department.

o Perform annual performance appraisals and maintain records of QA staff.

o Perform plant-wide direction on quality related activities and decisions on quality problems associated with product.

o Manage the Corrective and Preventive Action system (CAPA).

o Coordinate the activities of the Quality Analyst relative to the offsite product or process evaluation of subcontractors.

o Respond formally to customer complaints/rejections, through offsite visits or formal written responses.

o Active involvement in 6 Sigma projects as they relate to quality assurance and associated customer satisfaction issues.

o Actively participate in resolution of product quality problems through  interface with operations, sales, and customer reps.

Requirements:

o Excellent communications skills ? verbal, written, electronic.

o Perform/handle multiple tasks in a high energy environment without losing sight of long and short term Company objectives.

o Willing to travel to customer/vendor locations.

o Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001:2000

o Management Review Meetings, Internal Audits, CAPA System, Calibration System, Document Control

o General knowledge of associated machinery and processing.

o Minimum five years managerial experience in the printing/converting industry.

o Working knowledge of  6 Sigma and its application to our processes.

o Minimum of bachelor?s degree preferred.

o Good computer skills using Excel and Word. Ability to use technology and best practices to streamline procedures and tasks.

o Excellent interpersonal skills.

o Excellent organization skills ? the ability to prioritize the daily and weekly tasks of staff and self to maximize services.
